I can have a cloudy powder day for the rest of my life if I want. So I would take the sunny park day. Now that I'm 37 I can't really do much park stuff anymore without ending up in the hospital. It would be great to hang out in the park again like I used to and not kill myself.

Parents, the Lake Tahoe ski club, Burke Mountain Academy.

When was the last time you blacked out? Back in elementary school we thought it was really funny when we would hyperventilate and then hold our breath while leaning against a wall while our friends would squeeze our necks. You then pass out and go into convulsions on the ground. Fucking hilarious!

What do you do in the summer?
Hang out with my wife and daughter, mountain bike, a bit of trail running, base jumping, some skydiving, surfing once or twice but mostly I'm still traveling or working at my desk.

Bussing tables, it wasn't the worst type of job but I hated the bitches I worked with which made it suck.

I have always made it my first priority to live at a ski resort. Not very far.

Any park skier chick can kick my ass there but I'm comfortable with that.

I'm not really interested in team sports

Sure. Every year a few times.

I haven't gone shopping for clothes in at least 10 years.Traveling and seeing the world.

What was the first concert you ever saw? How old were you? Mr. Big, when I was 13. I made it to the front row and was squashed into the wood barrier in the front. After about an hour or so, I became pale due to the intense heat and was pulled over the barrier, given some water and sent on my way.

Not including anything you are in, the best ski movie ever is:I really like Ski Movie: High Society--it was a killer year in Alaska and BC where they were filming, and the skiers were going off. It represented a high point in big mountain skiing--of course, people are charging as hard/harder now, but the focus has shifted a bit, so that skiing is just a bit different. Huge lines, super fast, and HUGE airs.

Drink of choice? (n/a)--arnold palmer; (a) nice glass of red wine

Favorite tooth paste? Tom's of Maine, spearmint gel

If you were a dinosaur what kind would you be? A pterodactyl, because you could fly, plus you'd still have all of the sharp teeth and claws, so you could get a pack of you together and buzz the T-Rex if you wanted.

Who was the first pro skier you had either met in person or saw from a distance that made you star struck?

Wendy Fisher--I was interning at Powder Magazine, and I had to call her to fact check a story and I was super nervous. She was really nice, of course! Then, a few months later, she was skiing at Squaw and I saw her and I really wanted to go up and say hi, but I was really nervous, again! But I did it, and she was nice, and we've been friends ever since.

Cloudy powder day or sunny park day? Definitely a cloudy powder day, although I got to spend some time at High North ski camp in Whistler
this past summer and I really enjoyed skiing the park--it's pretty damn fun, even though I totally suck!

Who taught you how to ski? My parents!!

What was the first concert you ever saw? How old were you? When I was twelve, it was my friend Lindsay's
birthday, and her mom took us to a New Kids on the Block concert!! That was the first concert I've ever been to--it was absolute mayhem, like a hundred thousand screaming young girls. I was stoked!

Coolest foreign country: possibly New Zealand--they've got everything!

Most overrated actor/actress of all time? Alec Baldwin--ew, gross! But I guess you need the sleazy gross guy in movies sometimes....

Worst job you ever had: Cleaning out an old restaurant kitchen before it could be opened up again--I don't think they had ever cleaned it in 40
years, and there were literally inches of grease and so much rat and mice poop everywhere--the walls were brown and they were supposed to be white. I'm surprised we didn't get the Hanta virus! I made $10 an hour.

What is the coolest non-ski "perk" of being a pro skier? Getting to travel to many non-ski places that I might not otherwise ever have a reason to check out--Tennessee, Montreal, NYC, Boston, Florida, LA--it's just fun to see new places. Also, the people I get to ski with and meet wherever I go are so awesome!

The San Francisco 49ers. I grew up in the Bay area so the 9ers have always been 'my' team. Hopefully we'll get some good draft picks and won't suck so hard next season!

Who taught you how to ski?
My mom and dad taught me how to ski when I was 4 yrs old. My parents didn't start skiing until they were in their mid 30's but my brother and I learned early on. My passion and love for skiing evolved well beyond a simple family activity.

Who was the first pro skier you had either met in person or saw from a distance that made you star struck? When I moved to Tahoe I used to watch MSP movies over & over again... so, when I met Shane McConkey for the first time I was kinda star struck ;)
