I grew up skiing the small Pacific Northwest resort of Crystal Mountain. In 4th grade I began my first year of ski racing and over the course of the next several years ripping around Crystal opened up my eyes to how much new terrain is really out there and how many ways there are to ski it. I started to ditch running gates and doing drills to hike Crystal's endless backcountry, explore new areas, and find new places to build jumps. In my senior year of high school I was lucky enough to spend 3 months in Squaw Valley and it changed my life forever. I rode the chair with Shane McConkey on one of my first days at Squaw and followed him around, dumbfounded by the fact that I was watching him ski in real life. After finishing high school I moved straight back to Squaw the following winter, enrolled in Business School, graduated 4 years later, and I never want to leave. This past season was my first year out of school and the first year I have been able to dedicate everyday of the season to skiing and exploring Tahoe's endless backcountry via sled. It has made me realize how much terrain is right in my backyard and I could spend a life time finding new lines to ride.
